Albert Camus

1913–1960

Novelist of the absurd, and of summer

In the midst of winter, an invincible summer: he wrote it in a preface, and he meant a resistance that does not deny the winter. Sisyphus must be imagined happy is the ending of an essay, not a mood. He died in a car he had not meant to take.
