Elizabeth Cady Stanton

1815–1902

Author of the Seneca Falls declaration

At Seneca Falls she rewrote Jefferson and added two words: and women. The revision is the argument. She spent the rest of her life refusing to let those words be postponed for a more convenient coalition.
