Modern
Rabindranath Tagore
1861–1941
Poet of Gitanjali, and of Fireflies
He translated himself into English, which means some famous lines are his second thought. The bird that feels the light is from Fireflies, a late book of fragments. He was the first non-European to take the Nobel Prize in literature.
